HAMILTON YOUNG MARINES TO RAISE MONEY AT LEDO’S PIZZA IN WHITE MARSH FOR THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT HONORING AMERICA’S VETERANS
White Marsh, MD (Oct. 31, 2009) – The Hamilton Young Marines are hosting a Spirit Night a Ledo’s Pizza in White Marsh on Wednesday 11 November 2009 to raise money to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project Honoring America’s Veterans. The event is scheduled for 5pm-10pm. 20% of the evenings receipts will be given to Hamilton Young Marines to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project. The public is invited to attend the event and have dinner with the Young Marines.
This event is part of the 9th Annual Young Marines Veterans Appreciation Week, sponsored by the Young Marines. Young Marine units throughout the nation are planning events in their local communities. The campaign is designed to give Young Marine members the opportunity to come together on a national level for a common cause, to honor our veterans.
“The purpose of the campaign is to challenge our Young Marines to dedicate some of their time to help our veterans and demonstrate, through their actions, their appreciation for our veterans’ service to our country,” said LtCol Mike Kessler, National Executive Director of the Young Marines.
The nationwide campaign is being celebrated 7–15 November 2009.
The Young Marines is the U.S. Marine Corps’ official youth program to the Department of Defense for youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts. The Young Marines is a 501c(3), tax-exempt, youth educational organization. This event is coordinated by the Hamilton Young Marines in cooperation with Ledo’s Pizza of White Marsh.

Winter Encampment
Young Marines are required to bring sleeping bags rated for temperatures in the Teens if possible.
Gear List:
- Full utilities w/ belt (no ribbons)
- Boots (if Uniform boots are not winter boots substitute winter boots. Black or dark Brown)
- Watch Cap(black knit or fleece)
- 2 Canteens w/ belt or hydration system(be advised hydration systems had a tendency to freeze last year.)
- Skivy drawers (3 sets)
- Red National T-shirt
- Underwear cold weather gear(i.e. long johns, under armour)(1-2 pairs)
- Boot Socks(6 pair)
- PT Gear( sweats) (2pair)
- Field jacket/Gortex (Heavy winter coat preferably black or OD green)
- Winter Gloves/Waterproofed if possible(Black)
- Rain Gear
- Hygiene Kit: Soap,shampoo,toothbrush,toothpaste,deodorant,etc. as needed
- Towel
- Sleeping Bag(rated to temp in the teens)
- Alice Pack(ruck, molle,etc.)
- Note taking gear
- Flashlight w/extra batteries
- Trashbags or Ziploc bags for waterproofing
- Medication must be in a ziplock bag with child’s name and in the prescribed container with dosage instructions. Only bring enough medication for the weekend. Medication is to be given to DOC upon arrival.

This is what I recommend. Bring more if you want however remember you will be carrying it.
